Why do some do it? Some say it is madness to destroy the life one has so long sought to nourish and protect. But still many have considered it – and unfortunately many have done it.
Why do some do it? Hopelessness. People come to a point where they see no hope, no future; no reason to continue fighting – and so they jump, burn themselves, overdose… there are many ways.
But suicide is not necessary because there is always hope because there is always God.
Some don’t believe in God. They believe we are just the result of random accidental mutations*1. They believe that eventually the universe will turn against us; perhaps a comet will hit or man’s own nature will destroy us all. If this is true, then there truly are no reasons to strive because all we are and all we represent will become nothing. No hope. No future.
But there is a God. He created this universe and He says that your life has a meaning. Furthermore, He loves you and has a purpose for your life. Listen to what He says:
‘For I know the plans that I have for you,’ declares the LORD, ‘plans for welfare and not for calamity to give you a future and a hope. ‘Then you will call upon Me and come and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. ‘You will seek Me and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart.. Jeremiah 29:11-13
“Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest. “Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”. Matthew 11:28-30
There is always hope because there is always God. I encourage you to read the below articles and learn more about Him. He is your Father and He is waiting for you. You are precious to Him.
